Best Studio Mic Pack Ever – the new RODE NT2A Studio Solution Pack!

This is the brand new RØDE NT2-A Studio Solution pack which is now shipping to dealers. It contains a whole load of extra accessories but the price is the same as the previous NT2A-only box! The NT2-A Studio Solution Pack includes: · NT2-A Variable Pattern Condenser Microphone · SM6 shockmount with integrated Pop Shield · Dust Pouch · XLR Cable · NT2-A Recording Techniques DVD with Grammy Nominated producer John Merchant The NT2-A carries on the tradition forged by the now legendary RØDE NT2, featuring a professional large 1″ capsule studio microphone incorporating three-position pick-up patterns, PAD and high pass filter switches conveniently located on the mic body. What’s more, the NT2-A is 100% manufactured in Australia and comes with RØDE’s standard 10 year warranty. At the heart of the NT2-A is the Australian designed and manufactured HF1 dual diaphragm capsule. The frequency and transient response of this transducer has been voiced to complement today’s modern recording techniques, and yet still evoke the silky smooth character of the legendary microphones of the 50′s and 60′s. These features provide the flexibility and superlative audio characteristics that make the NT2-A one of the most versatile condenser mics available. Hello =) Thank you for the review! =)
Could you tell me if it’s good for beginners recording?
And could you tell me what interface I should use for it? =). (with minimum 4 inputs)
I want it record it in Logic Express.
    Thanks =)

  • bertrarious:

Yes, and it is starting to show up at the major mail-order places (Musicians Friend, Sweetwater, Zzounds, etc.)

  • ecstasy1982original:

tell me what is the best mic between rode nt1000 and rode nt2a for male vocals??i don`t care about those pollar pattern and the rumble offset on the nt2a…on their default settings what mic is the best…please answer me …thankx

  • SourceDistributionTV:

@ecstasy1982original “Best” is a very subjective term – you’ll get wicked results from either, though they do have different responses. What I like isn’t necessarily what you do! Try both if you can, but if you don’t have any mics already I’d be tempted to say get the NT2A, it’s more versatile (in a nice room you might get an amazing vocal sound on Omni for example)…

  • feewert42:

thank you very much this helped me a lot! how much costs?

  • a1a2a2qwer:

hey do u know the difference between the nt1a and nt2a? i need it just for vocals. is the nt1a enough for radio songs?

  • SourceDistributionTV:

@a1a2a2qwer There’s a few differences – best check RODE’s pages for them both to learn more. But yeah, the NT1A is going to be more than fine if you’re starting out. It’s a great mic and very low noise, so as long you you have a pre-amp or audio interface that supports Phantom Power, you should get nice and clean results. Plus they both have a ten year warranty…

  • a1a2a2qwer:

@SourceDistributionTV thanks and what “pre-amp or audio interface that supports Phantom Power” do you suggest? is there one that is not too expensive but still gives excellent results? obviously im new to this lol and thanks again!

  • SourceDistributionTV:

@a1a2a2qwer You could try PreSonus interfaces (another brand we represent) – the AudioBox USB or FireStudio Mobile would be great choices. Both come with Studio One Artist software so you would just need to have a computer (and a mic stand), and you could start recording tunes.

Hello…and thanks for the excellent review of the mike..I am planing to buy this microphone…but i am afraid i don’t have the right? equipment to use it..My Sound Card is a Creative X-fi Elite pro..which does not have a phantom 48v power…So I guess i need to buy another sound card or what???I would appreciate if you could help me on what i am in need of to get started
p.s. Do you suggest that mike for Vocals Only???Because i need it just for vocals…
    Thank you,
    Jordan.

  • SourceDistributionTV:

@GarretJordan Hi Garret – Yep, you need to get yourself an Audio Interface (aka a new soundcard) that provides Phantom power – it’ll probably be an external Firewire or USB box. If you’re after a suggestion, a good start would be the PreSonus AudioBox USB (another one of our products). Inexpensive, sounds good, really well built and it comes with Studio One Artist (a full DAW program)…and it’s got Phantom Power! :)

I’m looking for professional studio quality but also dnt wana pay a rediculous price for the other mics that are out there if they are not even necessary.. I would like to know if recommend this for an advanced intermediate recording artist.. But dnt get the wrong idea, it’s not for me cause you would think I should know about this but it’s a gift for a close friend who is a professional music artist.. Any help will be appreciated.. Also what interface or sound card would you recommend..
