Brita Water Filter turned water blue !!?
I just got a Brita Maxtra water filter. The first time I used it the water was blue, the second time a lighter blue. The third time the water looked normal and clear. I don’t understand why the water the first time was blue – I followed the instructions to the letter but there was no mention of the filtered water being blue. Have I got a dodgy water filter or is this normal and others have experienced the same thing?
Most aggressive pitcher water filter?
I’m looking for a pitcher water filter that will filter out the most contaminants possible. I was looking to purchase an Aquasana countertop filter for my apartment kitchen sink, but the ridiculous faucet/sprayer combo that’s on it won’t take a countertop filter. I don’t want to install an under-sink model, because it’s an apartment and I’m not interested in making that investment for something I move out of.
I’m skeptical of the Brita and PUR pitchers, they don’t seem to do much except improve taste. I’m not worried about taste – my water tastes fine – but our city water tests poorly (high levels of chlorine, higher levels of pharmaceuticals and medicines, high in metals).
Any suggestions? It’s hard to find unbiased review just looking through websites…
