**UPDATE** How “Pure” is the Water that comes out of our household taps? Mark Flammia is out to find out the truth, he performs a basic test to compare what comes out of our suburban household taps and compares it to Aquazuro bottled water that is Pure Water and 99.9% free of impurities. In times when pollution is a global issue, the quality of today’s water is definitely questionable. As two-thirds of our earths surface is covered by water & about 75 per cent of the human body consisting of water, it is evidently clear that water is responsible for life on earth. An average adult adult body contains about 42 litres of water and with just a small loss of 2.7 litres he or she can suffer from dehydration, displaying symptoms of dizziness, weakness, irritability, fatigue, nervousness, headaches and consequently if we continually to deprive our bodies of the right amount of water they need to function properly on a daily basis, as a result chronic dehydration will cause symptoms that equal disease. Is our health in jeopardy, who do we believe and if so what are the solutions & what is the truth???

I have a Watt Premier WP-2 LCV water filter. Interested in replacing the filter cartridge with a different brand filter cartridges to get lower micron filtration. The smallest this Watt Premier filter replacement cartridge I can get for this filter is 1 Micron. Thinking about replacing with 0.5 micron or even 0.2 micron from different branch such as Culligan, Pentek & etc. Not sure if it will work, does anybody have any ideas?

I just recently bought a new Brita water filter and I put it on the counter at room temperature instead of the refrigerator. I want to know if the filtration will be the same as if you were to put it in the refrigerator. Hope my question makes sense…Thanks for your answers in advance.

I’ve read that African Clawed Frogs are extremely sensitive to vibrations in the water and that vibrations caused by filtration or the use of air stones causes harmful stress. It has been compared to human beings being subjected to the noise of a jackhammer 24 hours a day/seven days a week. Yet other sources I’ve read not only suggest filtering, but over-filtering (i.e. purchasing a 20-gallon filter for a 10-gallon tank).

Also, I keep several small feeder fish in the tank as food, but the frogs will often allow them to live for quite some time before snacking. Before I had the air stone, the fish would stay at the top of the tank gasping for air at the surface. With the air stone they seem more happy, but I’m concerned about the stress it may be causing for the frogs. Is anyone out there knowledgeable on this beyond what the kid at the pet store told them?
