turning a 20g fresh water to a salt water nano reef?, 10 points to best answer?

so i have a 20 gallon tank that i still have running with just a pair of angelfish i dont really want anymore, so i will either be moving them to one of my other tanks, or putting them in as store trade at my local pet store. i want to make it a salt water nano reef. i have a 30 gallon marineland filter, a 100w heater, and a 20 gallon power head,

i know for sure that i will be buying:

1. fiji live rock
2. fiji live sand
3. pair of clowns
4. some easy corals i dont have the names but my pet store that is very trust-worthy has a few.
5.a hydrometer
6. test kits
7. salt mix
8. if i can find one small enough a protein skimmer
9. a cleaner crew, some hermit crabs, and other small invertes.

So what else would i need? i know nano reefs are very hard to keep, and costly, but i am willing to work with it.

i have plenty of time to take care of the tank, i already have 5 hours a week devoted to my freshwater fish. and am willing to put in any other time needed.

the cost is something i can work with, i dont always have a lot of money but i am starting with very basic non expensive stuff, and moving up in quality and supplies. i will be running into 300 extra dollars soon, that will be stricktly to my saltwater fund.

I also know i will need special lighting to grow corals, so i was thinking T2 lighting to save some cash, but COULD i just get 2 10,000K bulbs and put them in my old light fixture,

how many watts a gallon again?

sorry guys im a noob in saltwater.

but i really want this to work out for me i have done some research over the months. please help me

i dont want a lecture saying im stupid and cant do this
i have a marineland 240 HOB filter with bio-wheel, a 240 power head, as well as a suberigable filter.

What is clouding the water in my new empty tank?

I have a new 46 gallon tank. I had treated water sitting in it while it had nothing else in it for two days. Then I noticed the water was becoming kind of cloudy. Think nothing of it I got my 300 watt heater for it. Put it in, next day noticed the cloudiness was worse. Today I put gravel in after cleaning it, and set up and am running my new eheim ecco pro canister filter. So the problem started when the had nothing in it but water. I hoped the filter would clear up whatever is doing this but it doesn’t seem to be.

I think the cause of this is microbubbles. If I hold a powerful magnifying glass to the tank I can see millions of tiny bubbles. I have almost completely ruled out this being caused by bacterial bloom because there are no living organisms of any kind in the tank. So if it is microbubbles how do I remove them? They are not attaching to the walls of the tank or the heater or gravel, or the UV sterilizer I put in to kill any bugs i thought could be doing this. When I first put things in they attach to them but then after awhile they dissipate off of them. Now they are just floating in the water. I cannot see through the tank. Its very murky, and white in color. I swear they’re microbubbles but i want a second opinion or two.

Also should I turn off the canister filter? Could it be contributing to this or helping? Its outtake is putting lots of small bubbles in the water so I am just worried its not helping.

And to be clear all of this started before there was anything at all in the tank. Just water. I checked the water and everything is at 0 except kh which is at 80-120. Since I only do freshwater tanks I only have things to check for freshwater, I cannot check alkanlinity or calcium or w/e..

Sorry I know this is long but i really need all the help I can get as I have an overstocked 20 gallon waiting to be put in this new tank. Which btw is not cycled.

Best canister filter on the market, for what youre getting?

My god, these little gadgets are amazing. But MY GOD ARE THEY EXPENSIVE. As I stated a few questions back, my marinland power filter…(yawn) came crashing to the floor, and now its leaking. Its only 4-5 years old, but I feel the need to upgrade…I’ve been doing some canister filter research and what not, but Im a little baffled. Im so used to bio wheels and those blue replacement filters, now you choose what goes into your filter? Dang. Can someone enlighten me about canister filters over power filters and such…I have a 75 gallon tank. I was looking at Elheim, but…theyre expensive! I need a good reliable efficient and quiet system. Preferably something with "auto start". Whatever that is. I was reading a review, stating some canisters require you to suck through the tubing…o-o. Haha. I mean you fish experts….whats do you guys use on your tanks?

Side note: Whats a power head? Hahaha. Im not new to fish tanks, but I never used these gadgets.

Do you really need 2 filters for 20 gallons?

I really like the AquaClear filter after reading about it and reading some reviews but on a previous question I asked, someone said I should have another filter as well. Does a 20 gallon tank need 2 filters? If so, what type should that filter be?

Does this hood have a spot for a filter?

I have a 6 1/4 inch filter in my 5.5 gallon tank and I was wondering if I could use this lid with the filter and a heater and if the lid has a place to put a light. Also, any reviews on it would be nice.

Fish swims to top, then lays at the bottom.?

This has happened to a glo lite red fish and now an albino catfish. They swim to the top very fast, go to the bottom and then lay on their side or on the top, at the bottom. They breath really heavy after doing this. Then die a few days later. I have a 55 gallon tank with fresh water fish. A 300 watt heater, under gravel filter and regular filter system.
There is a bubbler attached to the under gravel filter. So there is oxygen going into it…
